Final phase of dual-carriageway link between Limoges and Saint Junien due to start

Description:

Work is set to start on the final piece of dual-carriageway that will link Limoges with Saint Junien, bringing increased safety and easing the rush-hour congestion.

A 7.6km stretch of the RN141 remains as single carriageway between Barre and Le Breuil, but work started back in November 2009 and is set to make progress in 2010.

The project will require a new interchange to be built towards Oradour-sur-Glane, a relief to regular users of this currently treacherous junction.

On the other side of Saint Junien, work has already started on the Chabanais by-pass from Etagnac, another project that will have positive results for safety.  Completion of the project is expected by 2013.
