Description:
It is said to have the taste of ‘melted snow’, and this summer consumers will be able to sample Limousin’s only spring water, produced in Treignac, Corrèze.
Treignac is at the foot of the Monédières mountains, where the highest point is around 3,000 ft at the summit of Suc-au-May, and it is a popular area for walking and outdoor pursuits.
The project to produce a commercial spring water was started in 2002, and with the infrastructure and equipment now in place, the Treignac brand of bottled water will be available this summer, with the company planning to offer 1ltr, 75cl and smaller 40cl bottles for events.
The water will be bottled at the old factory of Vergne Innovation, although the design of the plastic bottles has yet to be revealed. The factory hopes to be producing a million bottles per year within three years, although a more modest output of 500,000 is expected per year to begin with.
