Description:
A weekend of contemporary dance comes to Bellac on 28 and 29 May, as the Théâtre du Cloître hosts ‘Ça D'Freeze à Bellac’.
On Friday evening there will be three shows, all devoted to the choreography of Denis Plassard. The first called ‘Critiques’, the second ‘Derrière la tête’ features a single two-headed dancer, and the third an unlikely fusion of hip-hop and opera, featuring Georges Bizet’s Carmen.
All day on Saturday the theatre will host the first edition of "1'vasion urbaine," where amateur dancers can demonstrate their moves in the presence of live DJs in the theatre gardens.
From 20h30 a boxing-ring environment will host dance ‘battles’, where regional, national and international dance companies will compete head-to-head.
Up to 500 youngsters are expected for the event. From 20h30 at the Théâtre du Cloître tickets cost between 6 and 15 euros. A two-day pass will cost between 10 and 17 euros, whilst the evening ‘battles’ will cost 5 euros.
