Officially titled ‘la Foire du Trône en Limousin,’ this weekend’s huge fun fair celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, with around 150,000 well-wishers expected over the weekend.

The fair started on Friday (23 July) and will close on Monday night with a fireworks celebration.  The fair has a mix of big fairground rides and traditional amusements, and there will be sports and musical entertainment throughout the weekend.

La corrida des feuillardiers (a walking event open to all) gets underway at 8pm today (24 Jul), whilst Sunday sees the official inauguration of the event, with live music all day and into the night.  On Monday, the Grand Prix cycle race gets underway at 3pm, and a fireworks spectacle rounds off the fiftieth anniversary celebration.
