Due to the death of his grandmother Dominic Dickson an expat aged 34 from the Limousin who has been missing for over 10yrs needed to be found.

John and Madeleine Dickson moved near Limoges in Haute Vienne with their children in the early 90’s.  Unfortunately however in 2001 one of their children, Dominic then aged 25 went missing, having always been a free spirit they were not anxious and they felt that he would come back in his own time.  He was seen by his sisters and brother a few times over the next 10yrs and promised to get in touch with his parents but did not.   The last people to see Dominic was a French charity called Emmaus in 2009 in the Rochefort area in Charente Maritime.

However finding Dominic became more serious in March of this year due to the death of his Grandmother who he was close too.

His parents who in the past have tried contacting the authorities to help them find Dominic decided to start a facebook page, and write to over 100 establishments in Rochefort including, cafes, bars, tabacs and a nightclub.  Mrs Dickson also gave an interview to a local Rochefort radio station appealing for him to get in touch.  This triggered the interview of local French paper Sud Ouest who ran a story today asking again for Dominic to get in touch with his parents.

We are delighted to report that after speaking to Madeleine Dickson today, that Dominic has indeed been in touch with his family and is living in the la Rochelle area.  

This news is fantastic and the family feels that apart from public support from both the expats and French people, that social media and the internet also played a huge part in finding Dominic.
