Tomorrow may be the start of the annual European Heritage Days event, but in Limoges it also marks the start of the Toques et Porcelaine event.

There will be live cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend at the place de la Motte, with chefs using fine Limoges porcelain to present their creations.  Food writer Vincent Ferniot will lead a team of local chefs, who will be joined by guest chef Michal Hruby from the Czech town of Pilsen, which is twinned with Limoges.

Porcelaine manufacturers will be on hand exhibiting their products, and visitors will be able to taste the food, which will all be cooked using local produce.

The event, which is endorsed by celebrity chef Jacques Chibois (from the 5 star hotel and restaurant La chapelle Saint-Antoine on the Riviera) is held every two years in the centre of town.
